To you or your friends and family, it's just a piece of junk.

To a collector it's a piece of JUNQUE!

  1. It's broken. Broken Doulton's, Lladro's, Swarovski Crystal's, and many other items still have some value, even if broken.
  2. Junk Jewelry. It's only old, broken or damaged junk jewelry. There are collectors who would kill for some of the old, broken or damaged costume jewelry.
  3. It's scratched, dented or missing something. Anything can be repaired, suppose you tossed a $100,000 Original Chippendale table because it was scratched or the leg was broken.
  4. I (we) haven't got the time to look through everything. It's not necessary for you to go through everything. Get an expert. Let them tell you what is a treasure and what is TRASH!

Never throw anything out, without first having an expert at least inspect the house or apartment. Many elderly persons save numerous items of interest to them, that on the surface have no value to you.
