Check with friends and neighbors. Ask if they have ever used an appraisal expert. Some experts specialize. Some do it all. Find out what kind of appraisals they do.

Don't ever be afraid to ask for references. Make them supply you with their last three customers' names and telephone numbers. Make sure you call to ask the questions.
